Catherine Brooker
I have always loved to draw and paint and I am drawn to the colours, intricacy and beautiful forms of the landscape of the beautiful south coast of Western Australia. I also love responding to the interesting shapes and textures created by leaves and bark and the vibrant colours of Western Australian wildflowers and trees. Recently I have been exploring the technique of reduction lino printing and the effect of printing multiple layers to create an image.
I am primarily a self-taught artist and I am always looking for new opportunities to improve and grow. I am currently working on some pieces that are inspired by the gardens of Japan, after being lucky enough to visit in 2018.
